Leadership and clinical psychology

During my clinical psychology training, I wrote an essay on clinical psychology and leadership which I shared on this blog last year. The post quickly became popular and earlier this year, I was contacted by the course director from the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Queens University Belfast to ask if I would talk with their trainees about leadership.

On Thursday 20th June I met with the trainees and we spent the day together considering this. I enjoyed spending time with the group and hearing their perspectives on what clinical psychologists have to offer. We listened to music, heard and shared stories and thought about values that underpin how we lead and what we lead on. It was great to hear that the trainees enjoyed the day and I was grateful for their suggestions on what might be improved.
